Sur, Oman

Sur is the most important wilayat in the Eastern Region of the Sultanate of Oman, and its regional capital. It is located 150 km southeast of the capital, Muscat.

Sur has long been known for its shipbuilding, fishing, and maritime transport, and has a long maritime history. It overlooks the sea to the east and is located in the far east of Oman. Its geographical location and diverse regions are noteworthy, the most beautiful of which is Al Aija, whose lighthouse is considered one of the oldest in the Sultanate, guiding ships to dock on the shore.
